An Orthosis is a device that is attached to the external part of a limb to help a person overcome any structural deformities in the foot and to help correct the walking pattern of an individual. By doing so it helps alleviate pain in the foot or leg and helps improve a person’s posture.

At PhysioCure, we are able to custom design foot Orthosis to suit your individual needs. This is done by obtaining an impression of the foot and creating an Orthosis from a cast. Another method is by using a computerized plate on which one would walk on and the computer draws out a negative of the foot Orthosis that is then used to make an individualized Orthosis for your foot.

What is the difference between foot orthotics, insoles and arch supports?
Terms such as foot supports, arch supports, insoles and foot beds are all loose terms used to describe various different types of supports used for the feet. True foot orthotics are prescription devices which are prescribed for your particular complaint, foot and body type.

Note: A referral may be required by certain insurance companies in order for us to design a foot Orthosis for you. Please check with your insurance provider.
