Rehabilitation from a work injury starts with an intake of symptoms and objective measures to determine your diagnosis. Once a diagnosis is determined, a thorough treatment plan is developed under your approved Plan of Care, which is billed directly to WSIB from our clinic.
We discuss goals with our patients and each treatment is designed to achieve these goals. Goals can include returning to simple activities of daily living such as sleeping, walking, climbing stairs, preparing food, getting dressed, reaching, or lifting to more complex activities such as operating heavy equipment at work.
It can sometimes be unclear when it is safe to return to full duties. We can assess your injury to determine the right treatment plan and it can include returning to modified activities while we complete your rehabilitation. Our therapists are trained to fill out the appropriate forms (i.e. FAF, Form 26) required by WSIB to keep your work informed about your return to work plan.
Work Rehabilitation Program
Injuries at work can occur suddenly, such as a slip or fall, or slowly over time with repetitive strain on an area of the body. If you are injured at work, make a claim through your employer, and the Workers Compensation Board will cover your initial assessment fee then decide if you are approved for further treatment. Be sure to make a claim through your employer within 5 days of becoming aware of your workplace injury. Workplace injuries are a common problem.
